Out With The Old, In With The New

At Modern Landscape Creations, we pride ourselves on transforming outdoor spaces into beautiful and functional areas that perfectly complement our clients' homes. Our Artarmon project is a prime example of our commitment to exceptional design and craftsmanship.

This project was a front and back yard makeover, with the client seeking to update their older home and create a more modern and inviting feel to their property. With no existing landscaping in their yard, the team had a blank canvas to work with and needed to create a design that would perfectly complement the aesthetic of their freshly renovated home.

In the front yard, the team ripped up the old entry path and replaced it with beautiful travertine paving, which instantly added a sense of elegance and sophistication to the space. The existing plants were kept and transplanted once the hardscapes were all updated, allowing them to continue to thrive and grow in the newly transformed space. Additionally, the existing fence was fixed and given a fresh coat of paint, adding a sense of cohesion and modernity to the front yard.

The backyard was also given a complete overhaul, with new rock face block walls, a travertine paved courtyard seating area, and travertine tiled alfresco and paths. These updates transformed the space into a stylish and functional outdoor area, perfect for entertaining guests or simply relaxing in the sunshine with a cup of coffee. The team also installed Sir Walter Buffalo turf, which added a sense of natural beauty and vibrancy to the space, and created a tropical garden featuring golden cane palms and bangalow palms, adding a touch of paradise to the backyard.

Throughout the project, the team was committed to working closely with the client to ensure that their vision was brought to life. By incorporating their needs and preferences into the design, we were able to create a stunning outdoor area that perfectly complemented the newly renovated home.

Our aim was to craft an inviting and cohesive environment that enhances the entire property, making it ideal for year-round enjoyment and gatherings. Here’s a look at the key features of this impressive renovation: A sunken firepit was constructed, featuring floating stairs that provide a dramatic entry to the area. The firepit, surrounded by composite decking boards, includes built-in bench seating and LED strip lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere after dark We installed a large alfresco composite deck, providing an ideal space for entertaining and enjoying outdoor meals. This deck is designed to seamlessly integrate with the rest of the backyard, offering ample room for gatherings The composite decking extends to adjoin the rear of the pool, creating a smooth transition between the pool area and the rest of the backyard. This connection enhances the flow of the space and offers a stylish, functional solution for poolside lounging Bamboo was strategically planted around the perimeter of the backyard, adding a natural touch while providing privacy and screening. This lush greenery enhances the sense of seclusion and complements the modern design elements A levelled-out turf area was created, offering plenty of green space to complement the newly built hardscapes. This open, versatile area is perfect for hosting parties, playing games, or simply relaxing in a beautifully designed setting. The result is a front and backyard that’s not only visually stunning but also highly functional, making it an ideal space for entertaining and enjoying for years to come. Our clients now have a complete outdoor oasis that perfectly blends modern design with natural elements, offering a welcoming and enjoyable environment for family and friends. That’s where we came in – helping them clarify their vision and turning their ideas into reality. The result? A stunning backyard makeover with standout features that included: A large decked entertaining area at the rear of the backyard, perfect for hosting gatherings or enjoying some quiet time outdoors A new pergola for the outdoor kitchen, providing shade and making the cooking space a true focal point for get-togethers Raised planter boxes clad with composite decking that serve as stylish privacy screens, while also allowing for lush garden beds Composite batten screening, adding an elegant backdrop to the pool area, giving it a more private, resort-style feel Feature lighting throughout the space to highlight the deck, planters, and pergola, making the backyard come alive at night Our clients wanted a space that was perfect for entertaining while also offering privacy and a serene atmosphere for their family to enjoy year-round. They envisioned a home where they could comfortably host guests or just relax by the pool with loved ones. Poolside Perfection in Cherrybrook

Modern Landscape Creations recently completed a stunning transformation of the front and backyard in Cherrybrook, where we collaborated with our clients to elevate their outdoor living areas by incorporating modern elements that complement the natural beauty of their home and pool. The goal was to enhance the existing features while creating a seamless flow between the spaces. Here’s a breakdown of some of the key features we incorporated to bring the vision to life: A large, curved edge composite deck was installed around the pool, providing ample space for lounging and entertaining. To complete the area, we added a pergola over the outdoor kitchen, making it the perfect spot for cooking up a feast while guests relax by the pool The existing palm trees were cleverly integrated into the new design, adding a natural element that enhances the tropical, resort-like feel of the space Limestone tiles were used in the alfresco area to give it a timeless, luxurious finish. We also created new, large stairs leading from the alfresco to the backyard, opening up the space and making it feel more inviting and connected To ensure the front yard matched the modern look of the backyard, we installed limestone tiles on the front entry porch, stairs, and courtyard, creating a cohesive aesthetic that flows from the front of the house to the back For convenience and sustainability, an automatic irrigation system was installed throughout both the front and rear yards, ensuring the lush greenery stays healthy and vibrant with minimal effort Lighting was thoughtfully placed throughout the project to highlight key features. Accent lights were added under all limestone stair treads and around the perimeter of the deck to illuminate the space at night, giving it a soft, ambient glow Our clients were looking for a backyard that was not only functional for entertaining but also visually stunning from every angle. With the combination of modern materials, integrated landscaping, and thoughtful lighting, we were able to create a space they can enjoy day and night, front to back. We’re thrilled with how this project turned out, and our clients couldn’t be happier with their transformed outdoor spaces.
